Threads of Hope: An Embroidery Workshop for Collective Grieving and Healing for Gaza

The first fundraiser took place in 2020, when we came together to support people in need during COVID in Chile. Many of you donated, and many artist friends contributed beautiful works. I will always be deeply grateful for your generosity.

I have been waiting to do something like this again — a way to gather, connect, and stitch together in these disturbing times. This time, we’ll be raising donations to support families in Gaza with small children. I have been in touch with a couple of families who were forced to leave their homes with nothing and evacuate to the South. They are traveling with young children into the unknown, struggling to find food, diapers, and baby formula, all while living under the constant stress of bombings and fear for their lives.

As a mother myself, I can’t imagine the inhumanity of not being able to feed your child while also fearing they could be killed at any moment. These donations will not end the war or solve everything — but they can provide immediate relief. With your help, families can buy a tent to shelter in the South, purchase food (scarce and very expensive), or save a little for the future to rebuild from nothing.

Threads of Hope: An Embroidery Workshop for Collective Grieving and Healing
📅 Sunday, October 19th at 11 am to 1:30 pm
📍 Rockslide Gallery (4th floor, right across from my art studio — we’ll have people there to guide you)

Together, we’ll work on a small embroidery piece to calm the mind and explore healing through this time of collective grief. I’ll have supplies to share, but if you can, please bring a needle and hoop.

Also you will have the chance to take home some artsy goodies from local artists for a small donation.

Where these donations will go?

Directly to families in Gaza who are struggling to live , Ahmed’s family, Feras Family and Ibrahim’s family, I will give you more details about this that day.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE IT THAT DAY, YOU CAN STILL DONATE AND WE ARRANGE PICK UP FOR YOUR GOODIE SURPRISE KIT BAG!
