I invite you to my community embroidery workshop MENDING HEARTS, this event is by donation and I will donate it to young families displaced in Gaza in need of diapers, baby formula, food etc.
The first fundraiser took place in 2020, when we came together to support people in need during COVID in Chile. Many of you donated, and many artist friends contributed beautiful works. I will always be deeply grateful for your generosity. The second fundraiser was last year at my studio and we were 40 people!
I have been waiting to do something like this again — a way to gather, connect, and stitch together in these disturbing times, sometimes these times feel super dark and hopeless but I like the idea of making something together and help at the same time.
As a mother myself, I can’t imagine the inhumanity of not being able to feed your babies while also fearing they could be killed at any moment. These donations will not end the war or solve everything — but they can provide immediate relief.
✨ Community Embroidery Workshop: Mending hearts for disturbing times✨
📅 Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
📍 Rockslide Gallery (4th floor, right across from my art studio — we’ll have people there to guide you)
EACH DONATION IS A WORKSHOP ENTRY :) I WILL BE SENDING YOU AN EMAIL WITH DETAILS AND RSVP
Together, we’ll work on a small embroidery heart like a mended heart, as an act of healing, to calm the mind and explore healing through this time of collective grief also sharing a nice conversation!
I’ll have supplies to share, but if you can, please bring a needle and hoop.
