Art Statement

All my life I’ve struggled with being very dispersed and scatterbrained.
Being a Chilean-born artist, now living and working in Canada, I’m always travelling back and forth, feeling both here and there.
I’ve never felt a true sense of home, and because of this, I often find a balance in my art practice.

In this series, I worked to create compositions that embrace my dispersed nature. Each piece felt like a dance between the physical and mental worlds. I came to realize why I’m constantly changing mediums and why the art that I connect most with is mixed mediums.

"Here and There" is a dispersed dance that shines a light on the beauty of a scattered world.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious: "any quality that is so indescribable that you have no real word to say it with." How can one title a show that is defined by not having any definition? How can you limit an exhibit that aims to provide a conversation between many artists of different styles, ages, and subject matters? Works that one might be afraid to display together, but, when paired, gain new meanings?
